Searching around for a GTV this afternoon I came across this pic:
I've never noticed before that the small windows behind the doors wind down as well. Was this a feature on all of the GTVs?

Pictures all show the window strip but I've never seen a picture with the window down and didn't know that either

I always thought the rear side windows looked a little clumsy with the strip down them, but it all makes sense now.

The Sud Sprint (which was from a distance a very similar shaped car) had an equally weird design, but did have a one piece glass. It dropped down using a funny little round knob in the rear side panel, but the glass was fixed by a pin at the rear so it kind of rotated down in an arc and just the front bit dropped by about 70mm.
The mechanism was exposed to the weather so quickly rotted away.....

Cheap Russian steel and a lack of rustproofing were never going to be a good combination. At least they weren't as bad as the Lancia Betas were they. Having remedial rust work done before the car is delivered is always a bad sign!

Don't know the Lancia Betas that well. I bought my Sud Sprint at the age of 8 years and drove it for 3 years. Then it was over and it was not possible to lift the car on the car jack points... the car jack went into the body of the car
Nevertheless it was 11 years old and droven in 11 "austrian winters".

in gtv6 defenetly
You can find a picture of my friend's GTV6
http://fanta-team.org/pho800.php/1765.jpg
but unfortunatley the car does not exists anymore
and i love gtv6
You probably woke one morning to find all of the windows sat on a pile of red/brown dust.
Anyhow, back on topic! A GTV6 was a car I lusted over back in the day, the sound of that engine, wow! I never did get one, had the more practical 75 3ltr Veloce in black, a lovely car. The electric window switches were all in odd places, but the rears were easily accessible for the driver so you could buzz down the windows and listen to that fantastic V6.
Weren't the window switches up by the rear view mirror? Oh and that funky U-shaped handbrake.
I only had a 2.0 ts shed for a short time, but it was in the winter, so roundabouts were always fun.

Yes that's right - the front ones that is. The rears are on the centre console in between the front seats If I remember right.
The handbrake was indeed funky, but I did get a bit tired of people repeatedly asking "Ooh if I pull that will we take off?"
The 3ltr was a car which was always wanting to go sideways, great fun!
