remove 1st and 2nd {middle} box and mount maybe a freeflow box-muffler to the rear end.
BTW, have a look at earlier threads.

Wouldn't that make it a lot noisier?

the installed exhaust system is a Hormann one, it was instaled back in 1997.

from my experience, the noise level after removing the two mufflers {after the cats and keaping just the rear one} is just the same as with a hole of 1cm {little less} in the second box-muffler.
Keep in mind that the diameter of the tubes I used is the same one as the original and that I kept the original rear {last} box-muffler. A day after this mod, I pass the MoT test without any problem.

To tell you the trough, even the mechanic that made those tubes for my was telling me at that time that the car 'shall be more noisy with them'. And he was surprised when we start the engine and went for a ride.

    Hope this can help you.

u need some noise. Custom 2,5" from turbo sounds great, not to noisy for my liking
