Hello from Austria!
In this thread i will sum up the restauration work on my Q4.
As written above we started with the welding of the right side pannel (rust everywhere):
That looks almost identical to mine!
Had the outer arch repaired the same as you, with a panel from another car. I've now found rust around the fuel filler bracket (which fell apart) and inner arch.

Oh dear...I really hope welding is an overnight learning process! I bet mine is similar!

Hi Guys!
In my case i am glade that the part car was in such good condition, i won't imagine what i had done without it. If you have to rebuilt every panel sheet yourself it is really hard work. The welding itself is not that complicated, but you need much power of endurance to do that restauration job.
In the meantime we came forth with the right side panel:

As you can see below the left side it nearly worser:

Some more welding done on Saturday with the left side panel:

Hi Guys!
During the last week we could finish the body work on the left side:

Good afternoon!
Some more rust prevention done on the left side, before the mounting of the side Panel:
Have a nice week!

Hi Wrinx!
Thanks for your commendation, we try our best to get finished before summer 2014!
By the way the left side panel is mounted again:
We had to repair both car jack holders:

Have a nice Weekend!

Hi Guys!
In the meantime we painted the rear end of my Q4 with black gravel deflector. Yesterday we begin to convert some good parts (brackets, braking tubing, brake power regulator...) from my Q4 parts car.
Next week we will start the overhouling of the rear axle!
Does anyone know were to get bearings and bolts for the rear axle linkage? The bearings are similar to all Fiat Tipo, Tempra, Coupe... but the bolts and spacer sleeve are longer!
Yours Christian!
damn, that is a lot of work...I thought the 155 is much better rust prevented than a E36 at example...
BTW: nice workshop Christian!
Regards
Konstantin
Hi Konstantin!
Thanks for your approval, for my luck i found a nearly rustfree 155er bodyshell for sheet metal cut out! In Austria the main problem is salt in winter time. The last few years the consitence becomes really bad for corrosion.
Bye the way a few more pictures of working process:
Yours Chris!
Hi Guys!
So my brother and i found time during the Christmas holidays to work on my Q4 again.
We are nearly finished with welding now, only the left bumper bracket has to be removed.
Yours Christian!
You got the weld lines hidden beautifully! What did you use as a coating?

Hi Guys!
@AlfaJack: After the welding process we grind the weld lines as good as possible and use a coach gluten. In the next step we have sprayed gravel deflector on it.
@wrinx: Thanks, it is really much work, but i hope we can finish the paint job this year. Further more i am glade we safed one Q4, because there are only less left in Austria!
Yours Chris!
BTW: Some more work to do:
Hi Guys!
Some new pictures from the left wheel arch after welding an painting:
By the way, i also mounted the new water cooler with repainted fan housing:
At the moment i am looking for lowering springs. But cause of the difficult deviation regulations in Austria only 30mm are realisable! Does anyone of you has a suggestion for me?
Yours Christian
Hi guys!
The last weeks some progress was made on our Q4:
To sum up, we have painted the front axle, the anti-roll bar, the axle arms and the suspension arms. We mounted new axle boots, new anti-roll bar bracers and new brake cover plates!
Yours Chris!
Good work, keep up !
