    Default 105 Series Anniversary - Brooklands Double 12 - 17 June 2012

We attended the 105 Anniversary Celebrations yesterday at Brooklands for the Double 12 Event: http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/double12/

Fantastic day out. It was nice to attend an event that wasn't an AutoItalia (nothing against them but a bit of variety is good at Brooklands once in a while):

There were some collectors who brought their prototypes over from Milan (one has a collection of 74 Alfa prototypes!)

    Some stunning machinery:

I missed this when you first posted it up, but it looks like a good day out. Seems like there were a few events to watch there as well.
Some nice pics, looks like someone was taken with the RZ/SZ pair.

Does look a good weekend, especially with those prototypes.
The big classic events, Goodwood Fos and revival, for as good as they are, started to annoy me a little as they got just too crowded to enjoy fully. Shame really as its always good to see classic machinery being used as it should be.

Was there much running up the test hill at Brooklands Jack?

Yes, it was part of the trials that were being run through out the day.
This particular event was not over crowded at all - not on the scale of what AutoItalia can produce - that is very very busy.

It has been a while since I have been to the FoS but I agree, as good as they are they are too crowded.

However, it is reassuring to see that the classics still get a good following. I fear for the day when classic cars loose the enthusiasm that the public give them now.

I don't think thats going to happen for a while just yet. I can see cars from the 90's and earlier getting more popular as cars these days just can't be worked on by your average guy in the street.
