Gery, those topics are about a 20V 5 cylinder. Not sure how much is usable, besides it looks liek a real nice turbo.

    T3 end

This looks to have a T3 end bit. Is this the same as our T3 or am i bogus?

The 20v has a comparable flow potential (ok, so it's not as good it seems) so for calculation/comparison purpose the results are worth considering.

I think however lag (which everyone wants less of) is not due to turbos, calculate the amount/volume of air a turbo (even quite big ones) passes at low rpm and you'll see how huge it is. It's getting it there that matters, a crisp/suitable engine unit makes sense too.

So the turbo listed above, and this:

    http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...egory_Code=FLG

would be a direct fit to the manifold?

So just the exhaust bit to sort, and maybe make room for the actuator? Plus helping the fuel pressure a bit.

Those adapters looks realy top-class! I have the KKK turbo used on later Volvos and it has a totally circular inlet which makes the T3 flange too big in the corners and on the width, while being too narrow in the other direction. The parts seen in the previous post will certainly work well in the flow perspective.

The actuator issue you mentioned could be a real nightmare. I use the std Q4 actuator pre-tensioned as much as possible and have spent a LOT of time making a bracket that just goes free from the flywheel housing. If you are lucky the Volvo turbo shown fits with less effort. I didn't see that the bracket laid against the flywheel housing when we made the elbow to the downpipe... which led to awful lot of extra job....

*crap* adapter is the wrong way around.

It sould have a ring higher than the rest of surface. But the ring is lower.

Grinding of a bit to make it flat would be an idea.

I actualy see some room for improving it.
And as i have a spare ebay-manifold at hand. I think i will buy the T3 TD04-19T and have my mechanic make an adapter to blend the two together. Or modify the manifold to take the turbo.

Just waiting for paypal to clear the money i transfered.

One thing that I would suggest, is that if you are going to try to make more than 1.2 bar boost at high RPM is that you replace the original actuator with a 1 bar one. It makes the process much simpler. That way 'base boost' is 1.0 bar and the actuator does not even think about cracking the wastegate until then. I stuffed around for months using the OEM one, and never really got it working.

I am liking the idea of these TD04-19Ts. Could be a better option than the GT28RS.

I also saw the T3 with the round opening.

But although that fits directly on my manifold, it wouldn't flow as good as mentioned.

I think i go for the version that needs some work.

Just have to decide to flaten the turbo T3 side. Or mount an adapter like this:

Scraping some of the turbo keeps the gaskets to one, were with an adapter i need two, of wich one i am not sure were to get it.

    @Jim
I believe the turbo comes with a 1.0 bar actuator as standard.

Thanks for mentioning it, i will look into it.

This mod is something to think about. Haven't decided what to do with the turbo yet.

I got one more question, as my mechanic saw this picture:

And got scared when he spotted the *second* actuator.

I also had no idea what it is for. Maybe any of the tech-guru's can shine some light on this?

    here are some better pictures.

Else i would go for the saab-style version wich has 1 actuator and fits T3 "out of the box".

Not really since i like to buy a volvo v70R. And spending more money on the 155Q4 seems to be not very efficient in that process.
I actualy bought a V70R already, but it was returned to the sale garage and i got my money back. So still looking for another good manual V70R (2003+)
