Default A very nice HELLO from Austria to all Alfa drivers here in that forum.

    Hi Folks !

Thank you very much for that nice welcome here in that very special Berlina Sportivo Forum.

I had many different Alfa Romeos, the last special one for street use was a 164 2,0 V6 Turbo with 332BHP on the dynamo. The max. Boost Pressure was 1,9 bar with a motorsport Mitsubishi Turbo Charger.

Hope you all like my new race car the Alfa 155 Q4 ER2 (was an official car from Engstler Motorsport), it took me a very long time to build it up because I wanted to make a perfect race car. Now hopefuly by the end of February the car should be ready for the new saison 2008. As Steve wrote some technical details, I will expect a power for 2008 of approx. 400 BHP. I did some changes on the big frontside intercooler. I changed the outlet-piping to the upper position (now a diagonal flow through the intercooler), and so I expect an increase of cooling efficiency of approx. 30%, that meens more power and tourque.

I also changed the brake pads on the 343mm Alcon Race brake, now I use Carbone Lorraine pads, because they should have the same efiiciency on cold and warm temperatures.

Before I used Ferrodo DS2500, they were also good.

I made the motorhood and the front bumper from GFK, so the total weight was comming down to approx. 1150 kg.

If somebody wanted to have such parts, I can make that, ask for the price. The motorhood looks like the original one on the outside and inner side.

O.K. Folks, that?s it for now, if you have some more questions, please ask me, I try to give all informations, you want.

    Default Good Morning Alfisti !

I get most of the special parts from a good friend, from the company Ing. GABAT TUNING here in Austria. Andreas is the head of that company and is a really great Turbo Engine specialist. He race with a Ford Escort Cosworth with approx. 740 BHP and made also some Delta Integrales with over 600 BHP. Here?s the home page adress: www.gabat-tuning.at

Yes, the transmission is 80% original, I only use special parts for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear in the transmission box. All rubber parts of the rear axle mountings were replaced by Teflon once.

    Hope, that helps

which is your ratio {teeth number} for those gears?

And by the way, which omologation do you use? Is it possible to have any copy of it?

    Cheers

Hi crazy car you have there Im from slovenia and watch Mr GABATS monsters every year on our hill climb races love the cossies and the grales! Are you comming to race to slovenia this year? Im wondering how come you have still the original intake manifold? Once me and my friends q4s are done we could meet someday nighbour!
I swear i didnt do it!

    Default About the special gears

Sorry, I don?t know the exact ratios (number of teeth), but as I was told from Franz Engstler, only the material is a better one, the ratios should be the same as the original once. But I know that you can order differnt main ratios. Original in the 155 Q4 is 17/57 and you can get 15/56 ; 14/57 ; or 13/57. Those are stronger than the original one, but for the circuit track to short. Those are for rallye use in the Integrales.

That?s it for now, have a very nice day !

    Default Hi STUNTZ

No, sorry I don?t race in slovenia, because as I know, that race is a hill climb race and the setup of my car is only for a circuit race.

We will race this year two times on the "Salzburgring", two times on the "Pannoniaring", on the "Hungaroring", in "Hockenheim", on the "Eurospeedway-Lausitzring", in "Monza".

You can see all dates on www.young-timer.at

    many greetings !

Yes you are right the race is a Hill climb Ilirska and the Rogla are the two big ones . Wich is the diference in track setup and the hill climb setup ? And what about the intake manifold why is it stock still?
I swear i didnt do it!

    Default Hi STUNTZ

Why should I use another intake manifold, the original one is working very good, I have bigger injectors mounted. Do you know a different one ?

Also Andreas Gabat said, that the intake manifold is not really that critical part on Turbo engines to increase the power.

You are right, when the engine is a normal aspirated one, the intake manifold is very important, because you will get more power only with more RPM?s and then it?s good to have a special manifold.

The max. RPM on my rae car is 7.400 RPM, because I want to race the whole saison without problems on the engine, sure, we could make more RPM?s. The boost pressure is max. 1,7 bar.

Hope that are good infos for you.
    many greetings from Austria

Its not for bigger hp but im in process of maiking an integrale like intake manifold for better engine response shorter intake pipes and a chamber constructed the way that all cylinders get the optimal air pressure not dffrent as on the standard one .
I swear i didnt do it!

    What a perfect job!!!

I?ll salute you for your work.

But it couldn't have been cheap..I?ll guess.

I have a million questions for your - so I hope you stick around here for quite a time?!

The plan for my car, is not a totally race car modification, but almost. I will used it as my everyday car, for track days, and some club rallying, and some 402m racing.

So eventually I have to make it as liable as possible.

Well - first question of many - how do you experience the liability of the drive train on the car - in racemode?
    Regards...

i'm greatly interested in the parts used for the transmission. Where to buy them, prices etc ...
Also, do you drive on the standard rear diff ?

    Default Hi RMB-Racing

    Good Morning Alfisti !

I think, that the original drive train of our Q4?s is not that bad, and till now I didn?t have any problems. O.K., most starts of our races are not "Hot Starts" with standing cars, we go one heating up lap after the pace car and then on the start-finish line the lights are green and the start is open. So the peak power on the drive train is not that worse. If you are going for 1/4 Mile races, I?m sure that you have to do something on the drive train. I know that in the past there was a company in italy, which produced carbon drive trains, but I don?t remember the name. For the transmission parts (1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and different main ratios, you can ask under www.gabatech.at, ask for Gabriel, he?s a very nice guy and made many Q4s and Integrales.

    Greetings
    Signore Enzo
