New boot lid ...... by Savali :)

About a week ago i picket up my own Savali boot lid 8)
Unfortunatly i can't fit it right away, it needs a little bit off restoration :o
Here are some pictures of my very rare new boot lid

The real problem with this modification are the edges, from the two lowered sections in the boot lid. Every time, after 1.5 year, there are cracks showing after restauration

But what the heck, who wants somthing special, has got to accept the inconveniences that came with it :twisted:

Hopefully at the end of this year or very early 2007 i'll have the boot lid fitted 8) Last but not least, a picture on the car it came from, for the overall impression

Wow, never seen one of them before, pretty different. Is it based on a standard bootlid or is it a completely new build?

Yes, it is

It's a difficult job and all manual labor :o
As far as i know there are about 20 boot lids made by Savali.
If you put two cars next together, the boot lids can be slightly different

Did you ever fit this Brul? Any chance of a photo of the underside?

My bootlid is halfway there but I've not had much time recently to play with it....

This is the current stage....needs more filler and rubbing down!

I'm liking that bootlid wrinx. How long did it take you to get it to that point? And is it going to go on the Q4? Should make it stand out abit more.

No idea on time, unfortunately I didn't keep a log but it's very labour intensive. I'm lucky that I used to be a fabricator/metalworker so the skills needed are not new to me...but even then it's been a long job!

But, I suspect the rubbing down and preparation for painting will take longer....the bootlid already had lots of filler on top that I didn't know about so the it was out of shape before I started!

Plan is to put it on the Q4 but I'm not 100% convinced I'll prefer it over the standard Q4 spoiler.

The bootlid was just done on a whim to be honest....although I do like them

I believe there is a lot of work to do, pretty tough challenge I'd say which demand some skills and..a lot of patience. The final product looks good on car too. I like it.

Before ever seeing the savali bootlid, or before I was aware savali existed I was thinking about the exact same one.. Seen them on Mercedes back in the days....
