idle problem

when my car starts for some reason it wont tick over it revs fine but just wont idle any help please : : :

forgot to add the egr valve has been removed :!:

i also don't have EGR, but no problem with idle. It runs a bit unregular first, but after a couple of seconds it starts to run normal. It does this only when the engine is cold.

Have you checked the Idle control valve? its connected to the big pipe that runs to the throttle valve just above the thermostat
