New centre console

Right take a look at these 2 pics. I have fabricated a new centre console for a couple of reasons, number 1 is the waterspray install I've got. I need somewhere to mount the controller and see some status LED's, as well as a couple of switches, and extra thermometer for IC temp.
So this is the new console, however what should I do about the colour? Its made from Aluminium so should polish up, or should it be painted matt black, or maybe even be covered in some fake carbon fibre?

So what do you think?

Its certainly different, I think black would be better, hard to judge until its fitted out

Looks very stark at present, but should be better once its properly fitted out, and I think I will end up being matt black.

I think it will be better if you cover it with black vinil {like the rest of the console}.

It is obvious though that you do not smoke!!! Have you any idea where to place the ashtray?

Here's the finished article, LED's are for the waterspray, switches are push switch = waterspray pump override, left toggle = waterspray power, right toggle = cooling fan override.

Where do you get that water injection module and how much it costs?

I have decided to go another route. Climate control is moved in place of the ashtray and player ... and guess what will be put on the central console

The vent stuff above the TFT will be replaced by the panel of a remote mounted radio

It's not done yet, i have some problems with the engine now, so the tft will be done later. It's a 8" TFT touchscreen and fits perfectly

The new center console is done by fiberglass
