    Default Sat-navs.

Not a which one to buy thread, more of a, does anyone else use it as a basic form of pace notes?

Coming home this evening, bit of rush to get home for some food, in the Land Rover, so plenty of fun to be had even below the speed limit. And I realised that I was using the satnav to decide how much I need to slow down for a blind corner.

Anyone else do this, or is it just me?

    Yep, same here.

Mine does not show elevation changes though which would be very handy for overtaking.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried to hack a satnav so that instead of speaking the junctions coming up it would do describe the bends, just like pace notes.

I only use them for negotiating towns, other than that I just use my eyes
