    Default F1 2012

After this mornings qualifying for the Australian GP does anyone else think we could be in for a more interesting season this year?

Just one other thing, blimey those step front cars look horrible!

Yes, the step front is a bit wrong. Glad McLaren sorted that one and they look on top form!
Hope Hamilton can just keep his nose clean!

I just walked home from Albert Park. Not a bad race. Maldonado, what a fool!

Sounds intriguing, I was hoping to catch the highlights at lunchtime, seeing as the BBC no longer have full rights, but apparently its Mothers day so sprawled in front of the TV is a non starter.
Have to go and search out details online before getting dragged out for lunch.

Australia has the normal coverage on free to air. We got 7 hours a day for 3 days!

Cant wait to see next week's race. I want to see where Kimi and Alonso will qualify on a good day.

I like watching a bit of background to the race, but 7 Hrs is an awful lot of punditry. Still much much better that the edited highlights we are going to get for some of the races. At least we will get to see 10 of them in full for free.

Williams must have been devastated with that.

    Great race otherwise.
SteveNZ, out of interest which commentary feed do you get? Is it Brundle and co?

Dear God, lets hope that if they have 7 Hrs a day coverage they have someone decent for the punditry, Brundle and EJ etc for 7Hrs would be torture!!

EJ would be a test for 7hrs!
Brundle is good though but DC is the new genuis. Recent ex-driver is just what it needs. Good old Aunty...

EJ has his moments, but what a dress sense!! Just goes to show that money doesn't buy you taste.

Looks like Mclaren are going well again in Maylaysia. Be nice to see Button have another good season.

We have Brundle and Croft for the normal Race and Quali coverage. We dont usually get much other than that. Local guys do the pre race stuff. We dont hear from EJ at all unless he is on during the race.

I'm not sure about other states but here in Victoria the whole Australian GP weekend is televised. For the other races were only get quali and the race.

I'm getting a bit fed-up with the British media coverage to be honest now, with the BBC only showing highlights later in the day its getting impossible to avoid knowing who qualified where or who won.
Takes all the interest out of actually watching the coverage.

Amused today to see how unimpressed Ross Brawn was when the interviewer asked him how he felt about Mercedes first pole position since 1955........I think he thought that all the poles and wins they'd had in the teams previous incarnation as Brawn GP, with Mercedes as partners, might have been equally significant

Thats what happens when you start analysing too much, technically it is Mercedes first pole since 55, but only if you look at it as being Mercedes the team.

I guess whatever you say or ask, someone is going to be upset.

At least the main news channels now are giving you a warning before they blurt out quali-results.

Well you've got to say one thing for this seasons rules, at least they seem to have leveled the playing field for all the teams. Races are far less predictable.

Looks like the Bahrain GP is going to be interesting one way or another.
