    Default New exhaust project

Since my rebuild I had big problem with the loud sound. Basically it was my wife's first of all and my neighbor's too, so I had to solve this
I bought this throttle body that is designed for exhaust

I placed the 2 original cats too

And finally I placed a cap to the silencer

In the afternoon that it will be completed I'll post new pics

I've thought about something like this before. What diameter is the valve? And is it just linked to a switch on the dash, or controlled by something a little more complicated?

It is 76mm as all my exhaust is. This is electric Steve. Like electric windows, same thing. When it is opened I use the half of exhaust system (under driver's door) without silencer or cats etc. Very loud too. When it is closed the gases goes to the cats and rear silencer without loud. It will work well up to 1.1 bar boost but not very powerful. At least my wife will be happy. Haha . When I want boost and power I will open the throttle

This is the switch. Same as electric windows. I placed it on the left as you see

And this is the scream pipe

    Under driver's door

Ouu I like that a lot. Watch your legs when you get out.

Are you going to add a heat shield to protect the side skirt? And how much ground clearance do you have now?

Haha, yea. I tried but it is under the door when it is opened. We thought about that before to place it so the only one who would have a problem is the person that he would stand outside the car and the exhaust will though a big flame
I will put a heat shield in this place for protecting side skirt. I have about 10cm clearance from the ground but under the car the throttle has 7cm clearance. I am worried about that but today after a lot of driving it was ok

It depends on how power do you want and of course what turbo you have. For the stock turbo 70mm exhaust pipe is fine. Even better without cats and a free silencer. If you are planning for high power with a big turbo 76mm is ok without cats and free silencer. In this setup I made I have 76mm pipes with the stock cats and a silencer at the end for a quite trip. When the throttle is open the gases are going to the easiest and more "free" way without cats even a silencer. Just an 76mm pipe

My turbo has tb0385 (integrale turbo's) Mapping ecu 1.2 bar .What will I do? I'm not planing for high power It's enough to me. But is not allowed in my country for exhaust system. I run 60mm pipes and end stok bmw 330 silencer(inlet 60mm) very quite. ı want to do cut out system. When the trottle body is open the gases are not going free. I made cut out system power up or down. I want to learn it. Thanks!!

You could make a system like mine. Because of the power you have, you can make 70mm downpipe until the cats area and you will bypass the gas there as me. When the throttle is closed the gases will go to your exhaust (60mm with cats and silencer)
