As this thread has been resurrected (once more) I'd just like to say that there are infact some quickshift kits still available. (Found them when sorting out my belongings from France)
PM me if you want one.

Need to try and find the part number now...

    EDIT:
    I could do with these:

Seems like everything rubber based is going to need looking at sooner rather than later, still not a bad lifespan, 20+ years.

I am thinking about trying to make these out of liquid polyurethane if I have any left after remaking the middle propshaft bearing support.

Well I eventually found that some Fiat Coupes [early 20v 5sp box and 16vt] have the same arrangement and a member of FCCUK has made up the bushings in brass. I have bought and received them (£24 delivered) but yet to fit them. I have a small reservation about them as there will be no give in the connection that there may have been with the rubber bushings. I'll give it a go and report back.

Be interested to hear how the new bushes feel compared to the old rubber ones.
What do the Coupe boys say about the change in feel?

Finally got round to fitting the new brass inserts. However, I have found that the gear stick, when disconnected was extremely stiff when moving side to side. Back and forth is fine. I've put a load of oil in to the mechanism which it is still fitted and it has improved a lot but in the end I went a little further and took the whole mechanism out (3x 8mm nuts under the foam padding).

It turns out mechanism that provides the lost movement for the side to side was completely seized up. The only movement I had was slippage again the nut with serrated washface.

Its all cleaned up and moving freely now so look forward to getting it back in the car.

Question...what type of grease would be best to pack this all out with again?

I'd go with Moly, or Graphite grease, just look for one that is designed for sliding joints, but to be honest, thats not under a lot of stress so anything should be up to the job.

Has cleaning it all out make it feel much better?

    Cheers.
Yes... feels perfectly good now and not a hint of binding.

Any news that isn't bad news is considered good news now.

I get a feeling of dread everytime I see the garage number come up on my phone!!
