    q for those of you who has driven a q4 on a track.

    are you able to use all the gears. if yes how long is the straight?

    Yes, I need to get into 5th gear if the straight is more than approx 700m long (assuming that you have exited the last corner in 2nd gear). But more practically any track with longish straights will find me in 5th gear 3/4 of the way along. Typically if i look at the data from phillip island I am changing to 5th gear at 195kph - 6600 RPM. This depends on the tyre diameter - O am using 600mm dia tyres...

    I agree with Jim on the subject of 5th gear, but also add that it depends on how many revs you use when out on track. Given the nature of the way that my Q4 makes its power I found that I was changing up quite early into 5th, somewhere around 175kph, to no ill effects on acceleration.
