Alfa 75s

Is it me or are Alfa 75s getting more and more rare?
Its that time of the year when I start daydreaming about getting a track hack, but this year there don't seem to be any 75s about at all.

Is it getting to the stage now where the only ones left are pampered examples stuck at the back of peoples garages?

Yes, they are mainly garage cars and they're increasing in value at the moment...most are ?2k+ with some nearer ?3-4k.

I had one a few years back, picked it up for ?180 and it was quite a solid car, and loads of fun. I guess the recent scrappage scheme hasn't helped the cause.

Welcome to the forum Antonin, it looks like the scrappage scheme has wiped out all the old interesting cars. Shame really as I loved the old 75 I had, filling it with fuel must have doubled the price but it was a blast to drive. Ditchfinder tyres and wet roundabouts were fun in a hooligan type way.

The black 3 litre 75 I owned some years back was one of the best cars I've owned, uprated suspension, a few goodies inside, different exhaust (can't remember the brand now) and the rest was just great stock. I remember driving to an Aston Martin specialist once to see a S4 Spider with my wife. We took the Spider for a test drive and I was so disappointed after the 120 mile trip in my 3 litre. I asked the Aston chap to come drive my 75 and he immediately agreed that i wouldn't get the same satisfaction, despite the appeal of wind in the hair motoring.

The only 75 I owned was a ?150 shed of a 2L, despite that it was so much fun to drive and would sit on the motorway at naughty speeds all day. Wish I'd never sold it, but I get enough grief from the Missus about cars as it is.

Wet roundabouts have never been so much fun. It says a lot about the 75 that they still get used by driving experience companies.

We had a couple of 75's, still mis them.
The last one had quite a bit of rust, way beyond the point it was wiser to get rid of it.

We're stil in the market for a descent 75.
I would love a turbo or a 3.0 V6 and so would the misses

I drive past a good looking 75 Turbo every few days, seriously tempted to stop and ask him how much he wants for it. I loved my 75 shed, so a 75 Turbo would be bliss.

The only problem I have is that the missus only has an Automatic license so can't drive any of the cars I want.

My wife also only drives automatic so the every day in Taiwan is going to have to be something boring - a Rav 4 or somesuch, but I still have this dream of a perfect quiet life, with our apartment in the north of the island and then a simple mountain house in the south (we're currently looking for one) where my Giulia or Spider will be waiting for me!!!

What about a 500 dualogic? Thats what my wife drives, its a semi-auto so can be driven as an automatic as it only has 2 pedals.
Ours is only the 1.2L but it still goes well enough when you get it wound up.
