The whole discussion about inlet manifolds got me thinking, which cars share parts with the Q4?

So what cars share what?

Major engine components : Lancia Delta Integrale, Lancia Delta 2 HPE, Lancia Kappa turbo,

Gearbox\running gear : Lancia Delta Integrale Evo onwards.

Suspension subframes : Lancia Dedra Integrale

So what have I missed?

Yes, Fiat Coupe 16vT and the Dedra turbo share engines with the Q4.

Bit leftfield here, but what about the fiat Chroma turbo?

The fiat Chroma block is much the same as the Q4 block - close enough for a racecar anyway..

Engines - Croma/Thema turbo (the block has no balancer shafts if I recall correctly, which is good, the block is lighter at the same time, also oil squirts which spray oil to the botom of the pistons are different).

Running gear - I am not 100% sure, but Delta has a different housing of center diff. (attachement points to the subframe) as compared to Q4. Different rear diff.housing too.

Gearbox can be used from Dedra Integrale, but it has different final drive and torque split frint/rear. The rest is the same, bolt on solution.

I don't think the Dedra Int has a torsen rear diff though.

missed that, true, open diff., however it is manually lockable.

Bolt on solution (housing is the same, only few levers are sticking out). It is used by drag racers over here since it breaks less and can manage loads of torque.

Croma turbo was only ever 8V and yes it did not have balance shafts. All the Lancia blocks, even 8V N/A had balancer shafts.

Thema 16VT engines are slightly different. Series 3 models have very different cylinder heads.

Croma/Thema/Coupe turbo and Alfa V6 FWD all share the same gearbox type.

There was a Fiat Tempra 4WD produced which would have to use a similar drive train.

Many chassis parts off the Tipo range will be similar too. Brakes suspension etc

I recall reading in some Alfa promotional material that the 155 had suspension pick up points moved to give it a more sporty feel than the Tipo.

Now do we believe that or think its just marketing bullshit?

Thats BS. The parts are directly interchangeabe.

Tipo were only ever narrow track though. Some 155's have the wide track. Wide track was pretty standard after 1995.

156's do have different suspension. The top front towers were modified to fit.
