    3" Inlet Diameter : 2" outlet

    INTERNAL WASTEGATE

Wet Floating Bush Bearings : 1/8 NPT oil inlet

    T3 Flange : Fits T3 and T3/T4 Manifolds

    Specs:

    . 50 a/r compressor

    .63 a/r turbine

    .57 trim

    Turbine wheel:
    Exducer: 2.48"
    Mayor : 2.89"

    Compressor wheel :
    Exducer: 2.07"
    Mayor : 2.36"

Be interesting to see how long it lasts, especially with the kind of driving you subject the Q4 to. I've read mixed reports about them....good luck!

At least it has a clever location of the pressure tap for the wastegate actuator. Do you know if it is suposed to be a copy of any particular turbocharger?

The Mitsu turbo certainly spool up faster from the Garrett and from lower rpm {almost from idle} and keep costant pressure up to the rev limit.
It's fantastic on the Mitsus. Never seen one on Grales or Q4s, to see the differences.

Have found a couple of references to the mitsu turbo's, but never read anything from somebody who actually used this turbo and what the results are. This is something to think about, considering I am going to rebuild my engine.

That's the bit which bothers me, claiming (on the website too) boost from "almost idle" but then quoting 2,500 for the first boost.

From memory my Q4 is around 0.6 at 3,000...if it is from idle I might reconsider my plan for an expensive T3 disco potato!

Check out the bends on the Scara manifold before putting it back on the shelf and walking away. If you want a cost effective modern turbo and are not afraid of creating a manifold/exhaust to match, scouring scrapyards etc then look for a TD04-19T, it's used on certain Volvo models and made by Mitsubishi. Google is your friend here. :-)

Just over 300 hp. I have an adapter from std Q4 manifold to TD04 turbine and it works just fine.

A friend of mine took the 1600 turbo manifold and mounted on his 8V Integrale with a Mitsubishi TD04-1?T from a Saab 9-5 Aero. That was a cheap, clever and fun modification. It worked perfect. But, it doesn't work on the 16V head....

What would be needed to use this T4-19T?

    - Adapter for manifold. (Or modify part of Q4 manifold.)
Not sure what this adapter looks like.

    - Change exhaust so it fits other side of turbo

    - Modify chip

    Maybe other stuff?

    - Oil feed to turbo?
    - Std. Intercooler maybe not strong enough?
    - Bigger Injectors?
    - Fuel pump upgrade?
    - Stronger head bolts?

Sounds good other wise. My car takes 400Nm at the moment but the T3 just doesn't holds it long enough for serious power.

    Please see answers below:

What would be needed to use this T4-19T?

    - Adapter for manifold. (Or modify part of Q4 manifold.)
Not sure what this adapter looks like.
A:"I have been looking for pictures in my old archives, but haven't found any. I may have posted pictures on this forum before. I will dismount my turbo as sson as I can and then I will take a picture or maybe sell it to you. It is just that life is quite busy right now..."

    - Change exhaust so it fits other side of turbo
    A:"YES. New "elbow" to dowpipe."
    - Modify chip
A:"It is no disaster if you don't.Check lambda and knock sensor signal. Exhaust Gas temperature if you can. The smaller turbine creates a higher back pressure ..."
    Maybe other stuff?

    - Oil feed to turbo?
    A:"NO, should be ok."
    - Std. Intercooler maybe not strong enough?
A:"YES it is, but off course there would be benefits from a better IC."
    - Bigger Injectors?
Start with increased fuel pressure. A Walbro GSS 355 pump @ 3.5 bar for example
    - Fuel pump upgrade?
    A:"YES, as mentioned"
    - Stronger head bolts?
A:"If so, with stronger head gasket. My engine holds together so far."

Sounds good other wise. My car takes 400Nm at the moment but the T3 just doesn't holds it long enough for serious power.

A:"I have some Mitsubiishi data sheets that I can send by mail if you do calculations."
