    Default Biggie's BTCC replica project

    Hi,

Due to the problems with my car (seems to be ignition problems) i decided to put the Q4 on the garage and try to realise my project myself slowly.

That's the reason i started this topic, here i will post the upgrades i'm going to put in my car, meanwhile i can have time and money to do it

At the moment the car looks like this, arrived some stuff days ago

    Wish me good luck! LOL

    Some news!

Changed Map sensor, spark plugs, some small hoses that wasn't in good condition, changed one engine gasket to solve oil leaks, new oil filter and cleaned the K&N air filter.... and my "bella" starts!

I know what I have not done for the moment is not a big deal, but for me that it's the first time it's great!

This week will go to the mechanic for some bodywork (Silverstone front splitter and rear spoiler), and soon will arrive more funny stuff

some people {with Integrale} use to mount a small filter - the small one used on carts for the fuel line - just before the MAP to prevent oil from going into the sensor. Does not cost that much and keep the oil vapours out from the map. The only thing is to keep this line shorter than 45cm - if I'm not mistaking.

Those seats look brilliant...can't have been cheap!

Are they difficult to mount? How are you going to do it?

Looove those recaros. I'd like to mount them too.
Do you think it will be possible to have the driver's seat lower than the oem one?
What about the seatbelts? How are you going to mount them? Are they going to be 4-points belts?

You're right mate, they aren't cheap but i was saving money to buy them a lot of months ago ... I have bought them from "capitalseating.co.uk" it costs me 700 pounds (795 ?) with the shipping costs included to Menorca (Spain), here, in Spain the best price i found was ... 1100 ?!!

At the moment i don't know if it will be difficult to mount, i will try it on the next days, my intention is to put them on the OEM subframes, and if is not possible i'll have to buy some universal aftermarket subframe

Many thanks mate, on my answer to Alfajack you can see how much it costs if you want

with the oem seats I feel that I'm driving a tractor.
Too high and too close to the steering wheel. My legs are spread like ... you know and, changing to 2nd gear is a little difficult

Guys, I have lowered the driving seat on my Q4 right to the floor by removing the entire structure that supports the OEM seats. Its a real pain to do, with lots of cutting required, but then I put in rails that allows the seat to be configured at any reasonable height. My seat is now so low I can't see the edge of the bonnet (which takes tome getting used to ). Probably not so good for a street car!

Well, to be honest I mostly concern for having the seat too close to the stearing wheel and having difficulties with changing from and to 2nd gear. Very annoing when I 'need' to drive fast this car!
