    Default T3/T4 turbos

Sorry to keep going on about turbos...

I've decided on a T3/T4, so what spec is best for the Q4?

I've currently got stainless manifold, C&B medium street inlet cam and a Squadra chip (will be remapping one day!).

I was thinking the 60 trim but that seems to be for about 450bhp which is way more than I need....so 50?

Then, which compressor and turbine sizes would suit 300bhp target?

Read a lot about ball bearing turbos being much more responsive and faster spooling, but it there THAT much difference compared with a journal turbo, to warrant the ?300 increase!?

Have you tried to do the maths on engine flow for a given boost pressure?

For a low (still high I know) 300bhp ish something along these lines will spool all day long on the standard engine but the manifold is a snag unless you modify it or buy one with the correct flange http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_466541_4.htm

    Another GT

I tried to work out the flow maths but hit problems with a couple of things I'd never heard of

Ideal would be to get a T3/T4 to flow something like the GT series...not asking much is it

I could fit a T25/T28 but it would mean cutting the manifold and messing with the exhaust and other pipes to get things lined up again!

Much easier to stick a T3/T4 in there...

sorry that i don't understand those lines exactly
you mean that the lines of this turbo are good for the engine flow?
when you say "will spool all day long " you mean that the turbo is never manage to go to the "operating" pressure ?

yes but if this turbo is the best for you
and it is very reliable then it is not so expensive
i thing that 300euro more for something that it is going to work well is not to much
and you (we) don't need manifolds down pipes etc

Thats about the sums of it, the engines normal flow is right in the sweet spot for most of it's range at a lower (300bhp ish) power level. it'll spool no problems and manage a decent level. Just means a hassle with the manifold flange and the intercooler plumbing but it' worth it imo for this power level target.

    Yes, exactly how I'm thinking

Struggling to find the specs of the TB0367 but I think it's compressor .42 a/r and turbine .36 a/r.

GT2860RS is .62 and .64 so some trickery with pipes may be needed, but that's no problem really

I posted a link to the GT25 based turbo.

Not experienced enough to tell you which AR from the 28 range but to pick one I'd go for the middle one so a move either way can be made in the future if the need was felt.

I have used a fair few T3/4 hybrids. TO4E 50 trim is a pretty good comp. can flow big numbers, efficient at high boost and is not likley to surge. Go for a .64 turbine.

GT28RS with a T3 flange was the turbo I was always going to try if I went for a GT.
