    Here we go...

just a run of the mill fuel filter will do.... like the one under the car for example.... as long as it's for injected cars (able to withstand the boost pressure)

Have you seen the size of 155s fuel filters?

Nope, still can't find anything suitable...the only mention I can find is on US forums but even that's vague!

Apparently there is a metal plate inside the plastic part, with a small diameter hole in the middle.

Yeah, seen plenty of those on ebay but they seem to be for carb equipped cars...not FI. Not sure they can handle the pressure....can they?

the same as any 155 fuel filter? it'll work fine, at most you get a little delay in readings. Without it you have less chance of it working....

or make something, you just need a small reservoir....

To use as an air damper? Yes, they will be fine.
Or to put it this way, if it fails you lose a whole 50p....

I know where your doubt is coming from, a large boost hose (say an intercooler hose) will blow off if the clamp isn't tight enough right?

The small bore boost hoses for sensors and gauges can be just pushed on with no clamps and be ok - they won't blow off.

    Why is this?

    I have no idea!

The small bore stuff is mainly vacuum isn't it?

My concern is the plastic seals may not take the strain, vacuum or pressure...but as you say, no real loss if they fail

Not all of them, I have pipes coming out of my plenum and some going into the boost gauge, none of them are clamped on.

boost*area= force.... small diameter = small area = small force = not much expansion

Vaguely remember reading something along the lines that MBCs are better for diesels...but I might have made that up!
