155 Q4 lower suspension arms

I thought that all 155 lower wishbones were the same?

I need to buy a set, however this ad on ebay..

says that these wishbones fit all 155's EXCEPT the Q4..

hm.. any idea why?

I didnt know they crossed to the GTV/Spider etc - I will check on ePer.

I have, as other have just bought any 155 wishy...they all fit the same. Fiat Marea's are the same too

All the same afaik...same as some Fiats as Jack says...also shared with 145/6 and GTV/Spiders

That company don't always know what they're on about....they tried selling 156 shock absorbers for ALL models recently. Then when you email them to see if they fit your car they suddenly get more expensive

Be aware of differences between original Alfa Romeo spare parts and aftermarket copies. I got some american (Moog?) lower suspension arms from an Alfa Romeo workshop. The arm had a conical profile, instead of cylindrical, around the ball joint. With upgraded front brakes that meant that the break disc didn't go free once the car was placed on ground again. I had to machine the suspension arms a lot before it worked properly.

How the quality is, is another question. Could be better, could be worse.

Yes, some have a bit of a pointed end to the balljoint housing, instead of being round

Aftermarket quality can be poor for wishbones, some people only recommend fitting OE 'bones.

the originals are a LOT slimmer and lighter than aftermarket... I fitted the same Federal mogul (Moog) arms to my 155... with standard (257mm) brakers there's no problem, but did wonder what the pointy bit was for.

The arms themselves are very common, but with different rubbers and/or balljoints in them they are used on a lot of fiat related cars, including ulysses/c8/806

I have ordered a pair of "original" ones. I am not sure whether to remove the inner rubber bushes (on these new ones...)and replace them with the "powerflex" bushes from the old ones that have worn ball joints?

I am not even sure that I could get the powerflex bushes off of the old ones - or that the "shaft" diameter will be the same?

has anyone tried removing the outer ball joint and replacing it with a "spherical bearing, a spacer and a bolt"
