Past the APK (MOT)

Today I went to the garage for the annual inspection and passed it (again) :D
So I’m off the hook till 15 September 2007 8) .

Though it past, I do need to replace the power steering hydraulic system.
It has to much clearance. So it’s time to look out for a quick rack hydraulic power steering and all the extra stuff tot convert the small body to the wide body power steering version. Only the APK/MOT regulation leaves a bit of space for own interpretation. The helpdesk couldn’t provide a conclusive answer, so we decided to give it a go.

The second thing that was found, was a bit more serious :? .
On the rear sub frame on right hand side, there was a serious crack in the sub frame :o .
According APK/MOT regulations over here, you’re not allowed to weld it.
Butt where do I find a sub frame so fast that so it could be replaced? So my Alfa Romeo specialist welded it in such way it could be/look like original and then sprayed the whole sub frame with a new protective layer. So this is a part I will be looking for in the very near future.
