...and a friend of mine also.He said that is made quite poorly.In some spots there are even weld missing :).If you ask me...i wouldnt go for it.
That's worrying, the guys feedback says they are good....

well, it'll be here next week - I will let you all know what its looks like and how it performs.

Mine is on the car at the moment, wich finaly runs as it should.
Looks okay, only the rolling road report has to wait a little.
Next week the D2 shocks are being adjusted plus some work under the bonnet. (New plugs for some electrics.)
Week after that probably the long awaited numbers.
Car feels good with the exhaust-manifold in place.
Probably quicker than with the old factory one, but that is my personal feeling. (Pick up feels smoother.)
The outside is not equally shiny everywhere, after it has been heated by now. But as i don't care for it looks, no problem.

I am going to have the manifold ceramic coated (on the inside) to keep some of the heat inside it better. I used to use exhaust wrap (on my last race car (now sold)) - but its always a real pain to install and it does not last too long either.

Are you sure? Ceramic is applied with a thermic lance so I don't know how you are going to get past the first bend.
Also, what happens when a bit flakes off and goes through the turbo?

Exhaust wrap is rubbish, but really if you add anything to your manifold it could give the vendor cause to refuse any refund.
Looking at Jans earlier pic I would suggest a heat sheild in between it and the head, when that thing glows it's going to boil the oil in your head.
neither wrapping or coating is advised on the outside of a stainless steel header, the heat buildup could be too much for it. Stainless steel headers keep the heat inside a lot better than cast iron ones anyway... Wrapping a stainless header CAN cause corrosion, but can't remember how they call it now as it's been a while since I fllowed this discussion (on alfabb.com, FWIW)

It would be if the SS was as thick as the cast iron, but it's not....
They are also a lot closer to the components around them than an OE one.
I've got a recipe for a cheap, but effective sheild if anyone needs to know.
Yes, it looks a lot closer to me - might need that shield... Anyway i'd sure appreciate the "recipe" .. are the headers in your picture using it? I have a digital temp guage.. i'll measure the heat output of the current cast iron headers so that I can compare it to the "new" ones...

New manifold is close to the head of the engine. And gets pretty hot.

It was pretty simple and cheap, I bought a Plumbers* heat proof mat (or solder mat) these mats are used to protect things from the direct heat from a Plumbers blowlamp so I knew they were good:

Then I sandwiched it inbetween two pieces of SS sheet, I held it together with rivets. It is flexible so I could form it to shape, then just drill and fix it in place. As 'cuore_sportivo' said, SS is a bad conductor of heat so it is ideal.
You can use just a piece of polished SS if you like to make it more simple, but it isn't as effective.
*Plumber/heating engineer: Someone who installs water pipes to your house etc.

I've got the matting but my imagination is working overtime with the possible artistic shapes and materials which could be employed :roll:
Need to fit the damn manifold first...seem to have lost motivation (too cold!) at the moment :?

Motivation? Yeah tell me about it, although once you're stuck in it's ok, it's just the intial problem of getting yourself out of that warm comfy chair. :smile:
If you need to form the shield into more complex shapes then consider it in aluminium, it's easier to form.
