have you got a diagram of the pipes on the back the engine ?
sorry I do not, but maybe you can find it in the q4 engine workshop manual.
see here http://www.berlinasportivo.org/Techn...l/Q4engine.pdf
can this one help you?
Nick,
Is that your engine?
No, and I do not recall where this picture is from. It's from a small collection of pictures {5 or 6 if I remember well} I have concerning a mod to the oil sump {?} to keep more oil to the bottom of it, especially during hard cornering.
It's a 'mod' like the one from the good old GTA {the Giuglia one, not the 155} which I made long time ago in my 'scalino'.
If you are interested I can post more pictures of this 'mod' {in another topic of coarse}.
thanks for the pics but i have now found the problem its not a water pipe but i have a leaking core plug !!!!!!!!! so going to order some tomrrow and get it changed not a nice job !!!

cheers jack much appreciated :)
no the T piece was 28 pound the rest of the kit was 70 pound do about 100 pounds all together and i still have alot of pipes and connectors left for the rest of the pipes if there big enough
Edit: I was going to answer the question on sumps, but the 'grale has a two piece sump which is different to the Q4s (IIRC).
:tapedshut::tapedshut::tapedshut:
The Q4 has the main sump bolted to the block and then another cover on the very bottom
well, these are the pictures.
If anyone think they can be usefull in any way, it's just fine with me!
Did not find the one from the Alfa 105 series, too many cds to search, but that's the idea.
thats a very interesting approach with the sump, Nick... have you tried it out? Do you have any other pictures?
jimn~
Thanks Nick!!!
No Jim.
I've tried the corresponding one in my series '105' Giulia GT engines and had no problems at all.
You see, it was a mod from the legendary 'GTA' {do not know who first thought of it} and a must for race track use. Keeps more oil quantity at the bottom of the engine and oil pump practically never suck air {or vapors}, even at very hard corners and with the inner wheels up in the air.
You are using the Q4 for race, so go for it.
You could also polish 'like mirror' all the surfaces that are in contact with the oil drainage. A such polished surface keeps less oil on it. Can be done with the rods for example but not only.
