Remapping...
I'm rebuilding my 2.0 8v engine, and after rebuilding the redline will move from 6200 RPM to 7000 RPM, rev limiter will cut in around 7200 RPM..
Question: with the standard ecu, can a chiptuner add another RPM breakpoint for the ignition timing since I will have almost 1000 RPM extra compared to a standard car... If not, would a megasquirt allow this, and can they cope with the twinspark system? The 8v fires both sparks at the same time, btw...

Surely an stand alone could do that, but if I'm not correct, you could change breakpoints (not adding) to reach those news 1000 rpms.

so I'd have to make the breakpoints wider apart at low rpm so I can gain more precise ignition timing at high rpm? not really a problem since it's a track car but would prefer extra breakpoints :)

You can remove some breakpoints in lower RPM range as they are placed
close together. and add some at higher revs. I added new breakpoints
at 7000 and 7500 RPM in my car.

cheers Wolf66 :) now I'll save up for an eprom reader/writer and some eproms... and look for "chiptuning for dummies"
