Compression figures.

Final job for today was checking the compression on the GTV, they were done with the engine cold as I didn't want to warm things up too much, and also I'd found out what the clonking under the car was so didn't want to run the engine too much.

2 sets of figures, first one is dry, second one is after a squirt of oil down the bores. All figures are in psi.

Starting from the front of the car:

Piston dry psi/wet psi

#1 70/90
#2 85/90
#3 85/95
#4 115/120

The oil down the bores didn't boost the compression massively, so it looks as though there could be a valve seating issue. Not going to worry about it until I've been able to run the car upto temp and do the checks again.

To be honest as long as the engine runs ok-ish I think I'll leave it alone.
