Finn's Q4 :: 1994 Alfa Romeo 155 Q4 (2012-05-21 16:12:50)
Washed the car today to celebrate the working engine
Must be catching, I washed the 500 today as it was looking decidedly scruffy.
Good work getting it all sorted.
The car now has a brand new stainless steel 3" exhaust
The sound is not so loud, but I can certainly hear it, especially after 3000 rpm.

Very nice work!
Is that a very small Cat there too?
Yes it is. Q4 have to pass the emissions test which meant a cat was mandatory. I got the car back yesterday and it was away for almost a month. Hopefully I get the AFR-gauge hookep up in a couple of days. The car is booked for a "MOT" -test next tuesday and there are still couple of things to sort out before that. But after that I can possibly enjoy driving the car for the first time properly (and legally).
Fingers crossed for your MOT, good looking exhaust as well.
your new exhaust looks very nice! good luck with your MOT-test!
Looks nice mate and the best colour
The more I look at that pic of the Cat, the more I think that one of these would be a perfect addition in that 90degree bend just before the Cat.
Its the sort of thing that Mpampis_ has got.
Steve, that could be interesting :tongue-007:
Q4 has a fresh MOT and it passed with flying colours. Emissions are spot on and car works nicely at the moment...
Been tidying some paint "imperfections" and adding cavity and underbody wax. And bought a spare clutch kit and some hoses :)

It was -22C when I started the car this morning. It seems it's about time to change the p/s fluid and also the throttle was sticking quite a bit. Oh and the cambelt tensioner bearing is whining too.
I'm not complaining though as it is snowy and I think the Q4 was made for snow :D

:) for the snow
:( for the -22
Did the battery manage to turn the car over ok being that cold?
Car turned over and started allright. The noises it makes though are quite horrible. Luckily a local mechanic promised to change the p/s fluid to a fully synthetic today so hopefully it'll be a bit quieter this evening.
It's only -13 atm and the weather forecast promises warmer for the rest of the week. And more snow on the way :)
If the Q4 keeps giving you trouble in the cold and snow, maybe this would make a better daily driver.
No worries with the power steering, snow won't be an issue and no need ro worry about anti-freeze. Mind you you'll probably need your thermals on.
It would be great to make it radio controlled - by the way - where is the door?
Don't tell me you've never seen the original Dukes of Hazzard. Although it appears in this case you would need to be on the slim side to get in the car.
Loads done this summer although the most notable difference is a Q4 -badge :) In the background is my latest project.
