The Q4 this weekend has been treated to :-

Eibach Springs 40 mm lower and stiffer (Thanks Wrinxy)

New Thermostat (coupe 16v N/A) and removed EGR System (much better)

Complete change of vacuum hoses (red silicon)

Freed up brake bias valve (biggest improvement since I got the Car)

MOT due in 3 weeks so put it in next week fingers crossed

Busy man! These UK Q4s seem to be getting some time and money spent on them recently!

I'll get some pictures next week as I've been away and I am 450 miles away from the car at the moment.

But I've got a pierburg valve replacement to fit as well (I'll let you know how it goes)

Why are you fitting that...symptoms?

...and how much?

I've got no over boost and it's the last thing on the list so got a replacement one as recommended by the fiat coupe forum, will let you all know how it goes

Is it still electronic and controlled by the ECU, or gone the bleed valve or ball and spring valve route?

pavs

still ecu controlled

Interesting...how much?

I seem to be a bit short of boost still and can't find any leaks.

Interesting. It seems both me and Sub have a problem where we get overboost (My gauge shows about 1.1 bar - party on!! ) at full throttle in second, third & fourth but it cuts back to about 0.9 bar just when the party is in full swing. It's really bl**dy annoying.

Is this the ECU cutting back to 'normal' boost?

Or is it the pierburg valve being a tw*t?

I'm thinking a digital boost controller may be the only solution..........

Or is it temp sensor related? I think both Jack and Pavs have replaced temp sensors recently... Did you have any boost inconsistancies that were cured with temp sensor replacement?

I've just fitted the replacement Valve and all seems much smoother will give it a blast at the weekend and report back

Only replaced the thermostat here.

I think its quite normal to hit top whack boost and then for it to drop a little...going to go a read up now - but I am sure I see this reported on the Fiat Coupe forum a lot...

Had the car out for an exploratory blast last night. Was doing full bore accelelerations in 4th & 5th from about 2500rpm. It was giving the normal 1.1bar pretty consistently until it decided to give me two runs with 1.45bar at which point it was moving pretty effing fast but up at about 6000rpm the boost would fall back to 1.1 bar.....

As the car got warmer it was dropping down to 0.9 - 1.1 bar pretty much all the time but it feels like it has hit a brick wall, it just runs out of steam...

1.45 bar! What chip are you running? I would give the pipe to the wastegate actuator a check....

Squadra chip.

It only gave me 1.45bar on two runs but I have to say I was lucky that the road was completely empty at that time of night......

Will look at the wastegate pipe later...

The max I have seen using the Squadra is 1.3 bar, perhaps your wastegate is little sticky, only a guess though ;)

Here we go again....mine is only boosting at @0.7bar with my foot flat to the floor :(

Still fairly rapid, airleak I guess...but pierberg?

Can you hear any high pitch squeaking noise every now and again?

Apparently this is the Pierburg valve working - I can hear mine with the window now...

Err...dunno, all I can hear is the dump valve imitating Ivor the Engine!

Might need a new one then....

Just been over to the FCCUK site to take a looky. The group buy is closed and order placed :-(

Did you get one jack?

Nope, I think the group buy might come around again though :)
