Right, I'm looking at the post-count thing, don't worry you won't lose all your posts.

Speed wise, I know there is an issue when scrolling down pages, but does the response of the forum seem slow as well?

Can one of you please post another message so I can see if what I've been upto has worked with the post counts.

Some strange stuff, can 't add custom avatar. Also, the icon sizes should be A LOT smaller. its a total mess at the usability side.

Personally I liked the old style better, but will adjust.

Which icons do you mean? the cloverleafs?

Were still working through a few glitches and all will be sorted in good time, thanks for the note :)

Also, what has happened to the garage ? That was a nice feature that I do miss.

Yes, the HUGE coverleafs, that display the new topics etc.

I'd shape the front page too. The collum with 3 links (homepage, tech and videos) they should be not the left bar, but around the top. This way you'll get more wider viewing area for the messages. That box just sits there and takes up valuable pixels (ideal for forums is considered 950 ... )

err .. just checked some more, and since I am allready bitchin here :) I'l slap some more.

Dont you think, that in the stylesheet the area for the poster info header is too large ? For 1 line message you'll get a screenful of info with the headers and footers bein' so big.

I do like it a lot.
It?s much more better than older one.
Congrats to those who worked in this (I think Steve & Alfajack).

Thanks for the feedback, its always good to know what people think.

re. Garage - This feature will be coming back soon, don't fret it is only absent not gone forever.

re. Cloverleafs - Do you mean the forum icons or the subforum ones? There is the possibility to reduce the forum ones in size if other people agree.

re. Frontpage - I agree with you on the links taking up too much space. And now someone else has mentioned it I will look at adding the links across the top. As a temporary measure, I have restricted the links box to the frontpage of the forum only. Is this any better?

re. Poster info - I'd never thought too much about all the extra info to the extra post. I will however look into ways to reduce/rearrange this.

So is there anything you do actually like about the forum?

Steve,

For the ones like me, that aren?t native spoken english, the check spelling was a great thing. It was just a red underline when a word was wrong written.
I?m acuatally installing ieSpell (linked form Check Spelling icon), but it looks like an IE add-on and I really don?t like this little things.
The one from the last forum was really simply and effective.

Another little thing, but not to worry about, is that old PMs have been missed. I use to keep just importants PMs but I can?t remmeber what I?ve kept.

I?m just giving feedback, and in general I do like much more this new forum.

Have you changed something about speed? cause now is really fast eventhough when scrolling.

One great thing is the link to similar threads at the bottom of each thread.

If you don?t mind I?ll continue posting good and bad things just to improve forum as I?m a regular forums user. This is all I can offer to you as I have no idea of programming php. Is funny I can rebuild a complete Q4 engine but can help with this. :tongue2:

Cheers for the feedback I want to hear the good and the bad.

Sorry about the spellchecker, I'll take a look to see what is available and get something installed.

Sorry as well for the pm's, I thought they all came over. Has anyone else lost them? I can provide you with a link to the old inactive forum if you need to go back and read them.

I've not done anything specific to speed the forum up, but I'm glad it has for you.

Anything else you want or need just let me know.

Juan, are you using Firefox v.2 if so there should already be a spellchecker, I'm just making a few edits so that it works with the new forum.

New post indicators....the green doesn't change when the page is refreshed. I've cleared cookies but no difference.

I've had this problem as well, the large 'new post' icon rather than the subforums icon. I'll take a look.

Been checking on this...they clear when someone posts later or after a certain amount of time...just not immediately.

There is probably a setting deeeeep within the config

I'm finding that the way the new post icons behave is not very consistent. Some icons revert to no new messages almost immediately, and some take an absolute age. I'm still poking about to find out why.

Am I being dim...where are the smileys/emoticons? Some work by typing but can't find their home :)

Which reply box are you using? The Basic one doesn't show them, but the standard and advanced reply boxes have the smilies at the side.

Mmm, not on my screen they don't :(

Might be an issue at my end....

I've just changed your user so it shows with the standard reply box. You might want to give it another go now.

Glad you've got the smilies now.
