View Full Version : Massive Overfuelling

As posted on alfa155.org too...

Car is massively over fuelling after having the inlet removed/re-fitted to fit the broken water pipe (I know the garage can fix it for free but id rather have a crack myself tomorrow than going to that fuss)

Basically its chucking tonnes of fuel in, feels underpowered at low revs and jolty, very hesitant, also, on overrun its hesitating and shaking the car if you follow, engine smells a bit wierd and its putting clouds out the exhaust

After 3000RPM it pulls pretty well as expected but driving in traffic and low speeds is annoying.

Since picking it up (theres another story in there too) it has been slowly getting better but no where near perfect.

It has been idleing lots in the past days whilst they were testing it, so i suspect dirty plugs.

Any thoughts?
Cheers
Jack

I'v had something that sounds the same.
With my Q4 it was the vacuum hose to the pressure sensor.
It produced clouds of black smoke. (fuel)

Hi dutchy,

Thank, I have found and fixed the problem, the mechanic had connected the vacuum hoses incorrectly, swapped them back and all was well :)

Welcome to the forum! Any pic of your car?
