Last week i've done some interior modifications :)

The fronts seats went out and the Sparco Evo 3 seats came in 8)
The original seat belts are replaced with black 6 point Sparco harnesses, with 3" lap and shoulder straps. There is no way i can "fell" out of my seat while driving  The seats are mounted on a Sparco sub frame and frames with side mount . Everything is F.I.A. approved.

It takes a bit more time before i can go on the road, while strapping in the harness  Driving is a lot more fun, you can feel the handling of the car much better now. Driving in my Q4 is more fun, day after day :P

Looks really great mate!! Nice job!

Are they fixed position or can they still slide forward and back?

Fixed position. I am not quite happy with the sub frame and searching for something else. But i am not in a hurry ;) Also i am the only driver, so i don't worry about the fixed position that much 8)

Hi Marc, do the seats have a side or base mounting? I've got sparco Torino's which fasten from the base and had to have some subframes specially made. But like you I'm the only driver so the seats being fixed don't cause a problem.

The original seats have strange mounting points which mean that any aftermarket subframes mount the seats far to high in the cabin.

Also Marc, have you kept the original seatbelts? In the UK the seatbelts need to have a press release button, not the twist type like you have on your new belts.

And finally, where did you attach the crotch straps for your new belts? The front mounting points for the seat? And does the lap strap attach to the regular seatbelt bolt mounting points?

Also, was your Sparco cage a special order? Have seen a full cage but not just a rear one from them.

Steve,

The seats have side mount fixing points. And the original seat mounting points are weard :? The side mounting point frame is mounted on a sub frame which is mounted on the original frame on the chassis. And yes, the seats are a bit higher than the original seats. That's why i wound to find out if a differend type of frame gives a better result. But i vae to look in to that some time.

The original seatbetls are in place, but they are going out. I haven't heart anything about this releasing mechanism, so i won't expect any trouble when i am up for the yearly check moment (MOT).

About the harness, the crotch straps are mounted under the seat to the seat frame. The lap straps are fixed on the original point at the bottem and at the center of the car to an extra bar which is fitted to the roll cage.
The shoulder straps are fixed at the back seat, where the original seatbelts are bolted under the backseat.

Greatings,
Marc

Just checked this question last saturday. The only regulation we have, is that the belt/harnes must comply with the MOT regulation and must have a european certifcate of compliany. It doesn't say anything about the release mechanisme.

I think i will be going to try to find out at the car regulation ofiice, if i can get the moifications on paper. This way there can be no misunderstanding with the law and the insurance company.

And today the decoration continues :D
Added a Sparco R383 suede black steering wheel on a universal hub.
And to control the horn, a Sparco claxon buton.
