So a little bit of history about my car, I bought it from a guy in Glasgow, way back at the end of 1999. At that point it had been sat for 6 months, so instead of driving it all the way from Scotland to London, I got it shipped most of the way and then drove the final 100 miles or so.
At that point the Q4 way my only car, so it got used daily, and improved slowly by a London based specialist.
The in 2004 I moved out to France and the car came with me, handy having the steering wheel on the correct side for a change, and it got used on and off for a few years before being tucked away in the garage and used occasionally.
Move forward again to 2013 and I move back to the UK, the Q4 was once again my only car, so it got used daily again, and of course picked up a number of problems, the brake pedal got soft and moved all the way to the floor, the exhaust needed adjusting, the rear subframe which I'd known was rough for a number of years got to a dangerous state. So once again the car war put away.

Roll forward to 2017, and I've finally got around to getting the car sorted out properly, its currently in the garage, the subframe has been swapped out for and almost pristine one, brakes are being looked at, alternator being rebuilt along with a big list of other items.
Its been at the garage for quite a while now and I'm itching to get it back now. The interior is in a bit of a state so am looking forward to getting that all cleared out and cleaned up, the paintwork is scruffy, so a big cleanup and polish is long overdue.

I've missed NAD this year, but am hoping to get the car back soon so I can make it look better and get out and enjoy it.

Here are a couple of pics, hopefully there will be more soon when its back on the road.

Good work Steve. One job can quickly lead to many others. Worth it in the end!

Cheers AlfaJack , the longer its in the garage the more twitchy I get. I just want the old girl back now, got a list of things that I want to do to make her a bit more presentable and want to get on with them.
I even found myself watching a youtube video on cleaning engine bays today !!!

Ha Ha yes thats the one.

Not a bad video, however most of it was just common sense, and lets face it cleaning an engine that lives most of its life in a dry dusty environment is going to be far easier than one that lives over here.

I do enjoy his videos - very well put together. With 1.5 million subscribers I guess he is making a decent living off it.

Its just refreshing to see a YouTuber who is actually doing something, I tend to stick to the Motor Trend channel with Roadkill, Finnegans Garage and hotrod garage, but even those seem to be getting a little tired at the moment. Some of the other Youtubers just annoy me intensely, doing stupid things for a huge number of people to watch and, most of the time drool over.

This is my current favourite YouTube car channel. Well filmed and explained on various day to day issues. Although he has lots of rusty cars in there never has anything italian in, unless you count Chrysler

Cheers for that Jack, in need of a new channel to watch, some of the stuff that gets put on there by 'experts' is just plain common sense or complete rubbish.

Oh and as for the Q4, its inching its way closer to being back on the road, just a little bit of welding, clutch and brake cylinders and it should be ready for an MOT.

Fingers crossed and all that.
