View Full Version : Prop shaft rubber support bearing and housing
I had the car up on the ramps at my local custom exhaust place (its in for a new downpipe and flexi) and whilst looking around we found that the prop shaft rubber support for the bearing has completely collapsed.
Has anyone replaced this?
Steve Webb - I recall that you may have done this and made up your own rubber support using an epoxy based material? Or am I mistaken?
Many thanks for any advice.

Hi AlfaJack , the procedure for removing the prop support is in this pdf http://www.berlinasportivo.com/Technical/q4manual/Q4-12-28_Chassis_Drivetrain.pdf . It starts at page 15-17. Looks pretty straightforward and I'm sure I spotted new old stock of the supports a couple of years ago, might still be able to find one, or might even be able to find someone to refurb.
I've never swapped one myself on a Q4, I think the talk before was of stiffening up engine mounts by filling in the gaps in the bushes with something.
