Anyone replaced these...which kit did you use, did you use one for other 155s?

I'm askng because ePER lists them as being different, part numbers for the big bolt are...

Q4 - 82436673 vs. Other 155s - 7603698

:(

Has anyone fitted standard bearing kits or are they different as suggested by the differing part numbers above?

Apparently the Q4 bolt only fits the following:

(FIAT) - NZ TEMPRA MAQ.93 1750-2000 ('93-'96)
(FIAT) - MW TEMPRA 1750-2000 (1989-1993)
(LANCIA) - SM DEDRA FL.94 1750-2.0 (1994-1999)
(LANCIA) - RJ DEDRA IE.TB.INTEGRALE (1990-1994)

Why the question
I am planning to replace them on mine to, so if they are no longer available we're screwed :thinking-011:

Well...I can't find any and Alfa aren't selling them anymore!

Thankfully mine have come out in one piece.

The non-Q4 155s bearing kit does not fit a Q4...actually, that might not be entirely true.

The bolt is much longer on a Q4 so the inner pipe and plastic guard are also likely to be different on the standard repairkit, but the bearings MIGHT be the same.

I'll keep you updated...

Update...the bearings ARE the same as the other 155s...so as long as you get the bolts and bearings out without damaging the inner tube or plastic guard it'll be fine.

I'm not sure the plastic guard is essential and the steel tube looks like it could be cut from a stock length anyway.

I'm going to do a "How To" when I reassemble and will do another update then.

Posted on 155.org but worth confirming here too:

Conclusion to this thread...

Non-Q4 trailing arm bearings kits are readily available for about £20 each side.

They share the following bits with Q4:

End caps.
Dust seals.
Bearings.

They do not share the following:

Long bolt & nut (different thread too).
Plastic insert.
Inner metal tube.

Q4 owners need to get the long bolt out in one piece or you're in trouble! There's no need to remove the plastic insert and the metal tube should be fine. The main parts you need, the bearings and dust covers, are suitable. It's likely that at least one of the rubber seals will have perished so buying the kit is essential to ensure you get these, just having the bearings on their own may not be enough.

So, lots of Plusgas, wire brushing, more Plusgas and working the nut back and forth when removing the big bolt!
