Boost readings

Quick question for you all ...................

Driving the Q4 today and when you floor it the boost gauge whips round to 1.2bar then drops down to .8 and stays there with the throttle still down

Is that normal behaviour or have i got an air leak or other issue ???

The boost gauge is connected to a t junction onto the inlet manifold dunno if thats right or not and looking at the manuals the vac pipes to the egr dont appear to be right :thinking-011::thinking-011::thinking-011::thinking-011:

Might have to re pipe them but it goes like a barsteward just wondering about the drop from 1.2 to 0.8 more than anything

1.2 overboost is normal if yoy have any chip programme, near the limit 0.8 is normal too. How old is your wastegate?

Ah now that i dont know ................... imported the Q4 from Japan so it could be original as i have no details etc

But if 1.2 bar initially then falls to 0.8 is the norm then i`ll be happy

Its all right ..................... just the pedals are the wrong way round and i`m sat on the wrong side :lol-030::lol-030::lol-030::lol-030::lol-030:

Needs a bit more fiddling with but i`m happy
