I'm currently stuck at home with a trapped nerve in my hip, and as of today slightly spaced out as Santa came early this morning (disguised as my doctor) and left a big bag of happy pills.

With only the internet, dogs and a few books to keep me sane I thought I'd start an iconic photos thread, motoring related prefered, but anything goes.

I'll start off with one of the coolest pics ever.

This set of pictures always sets my H&S side gibbering...but they're definitely iconic.

Are the Lancia ones taken before or after lunch? We all know the homologation inspectors got taken for a long liquid lunch whilst the cars were moved around the factory. :thumb:

Oh and the Shinyo Sawako pic is of the Tug trying to connect a line, the SS had already hit and sunk the fishing boat when the pic was taken.

Ahh, I had to google the ship for it's story, glad that picture doesn't show the sadly departed.

Wrinx/anyone, do you remember a set of shots (which is floating around on the 'net somewhere) of a ship building engineering shop somewhere in or near Tyneside? Can't seem to find them and there are some great shots on there.
