My Q4 is missing the brackets that comes between the central diff and the block. I've highlighted the missing brackets using JimNielsen's foto

I would be most grateful if someone could measure the thickness of those plates and are there any unusal bends in them, especially the one with 4 holes. Are they still available new and are they specific to Q4?

Hi Finn, to be honest I've not noticed those plates before. How long has your car been without them?

I'll have a dig around and see what I can come up with for you.

Maybe I've them laying within reach.
Shall have a look tonight.

If I have to guess, about 8 - 10mm thick.

Well here is a link to the parts on eper. You could always get the part numbers and see if your local dealer has a set.

Diff support brackets (http://eper.fiatforum.com/eper/navi?COUNTRY=012&GRP_COD=274&SBMK=R&DRIVE=D&SGS_COD=0&MAKE=R&COMM_MODEL=155&CAT_COD=U6&MOD_COD=167&SGRP_COD=7&ALL_FIG=0&LANGUAGE=3&NEW_HTTP=TRUE&PREVIOUS_KEY=SUBGROUP&ALL_LIST_PART=0&SB_CODE=-1&KEY=PARTDRAWDATA&PRINT_MODE=0&EPER_CAT=SP&WINDOW_ID=1&GUI_LANG=3)

And as Brul says, I'll bet they are at least 8mm thick, any less and there would be no point to them.

Thanks for the replies. I've no idea how long it has been without them. The car stood without the engine and gearbox from 07/2009 until 01/2011 and after that it has covered only 1000 odd miles. It was put together in two months at the end of 2010 and I'd guess the brackets were left out then by mistake.

Thanks for the eper-link. Maybe I'll get lucky with my local dealer :D

They must serve a purpose as they we're put there. And I guess I'll be making my own brackets, but wanted to know how strong to make them. They look simple enough to make.

On the last picture there's a pin or a nut in there!

Hopefully this is helpful in making your own brackets ;)

I don't like footbal, haven't seen the game(s) ;)

Will measure op the holes for you later this weekend and make a picture of the pin/nut/washer for you. I just don't have the energy to go into the garage

Well it's been long time coming but these brackets are done. Would be appreciative if someone could check and photograph the pin/nut/washer assemblies on the fixings. Especially on the larger 16mm holes. Found one liner still left on one of the studs. And improvised liners for the big holes, but the brackets aren't supported sideways on every point. Only tightened and held in place with the nuts and flat washers. Pretty complicated to explain...

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n288/BrulTM/Alfa%20155%20Q4%20repair/Demontage/16mmhole.jpg
Almost 16 mm.

Thickness of the pin:
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n288/BrulTM/Alfa%20155%20Q4%20repair/Demontage/About16mmpin.jpg
A bit less then 16 mm.

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n288/BrulTM/Alfa%20155%20Q4%20repair/Demontage/About15mmhigh.jpg
15 mm in height.

The thickness of the "washer or top" of the pin:
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n288/BrulTM/Alfa%20155%20Q4%20repair/Demontage/About2mmthick.jpg
About 2 mm thick.

The diameter of the pin itself:
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n288/BrulTM/Alfa%20155%20Q4%20repair/Demontage/About10mmindiameter.jpg
just 10 mm in diameter.

Hopefully this helps you finishing your brackets and pin.
If you need another measurement, please let me know.
