Hello guys,

First of all, hope you all have enjoyed X-mas and started 2012 at the top!
After almost 5 years, since I bought my loved Q4, I decided to make some "surgery" because there was a fuel leak at the more undesired place, the hose under the air mainifold (yes that one that goes to the fuel pressure regulator), then I had to unmount the manifold and other stuff.
Everything was fine until I faced with the absolute pressure sensor hose, I can't find the place where it should be connected from the manifold side.
The manual is not clear just says "disconnect the hose" and the drawing is not complete.
Sorry for this "newbbie" question but, I'm an IT security specialist, playing with "macchine Italiane" and I don't know too much! :)
Thanks for the help.

-Dario.

The hose of the map sensor is going in the middle, under the inlet manifold

As you see in my signature photo it beside the 2 bolts of the manifold, under these

Yes, I found it this morning.
When I've unmounted the manifold, I've disconnected the hose from the intake manifold instead of sensor side and forgot the right place.
Thanks mpampis for your help!

Difficult one to locate.
A garage once left it disconnected on mine and led to an interesting drive home after they had closed for the night!

Didn't have time to stick these up this morning, but better late than never. Hopefully they will help anyone else who needs to know where it is connected.

As you can see, its a real bitch of a place to get to if you need to reconnect it with the inlet manifold in place.

Ooops! and what was the car behavior with the hose disconnected?
Just to keep in mind.

Steve,

Thanks for the pictures.
Next time I'll remove the hose from sensor side!

It hugely over fuels!

Are you sure thats right? Surely if the car is making any boost at all the MAP sensor is only going to see atmospheric pressure (as if the car wasn't making boost) and not add enough fuel.
But then again the MAP sensor is not going to see any vacuum either, so I guess the car is going to be both over and under fuelling depending on what your right foot is doing.

I had the hose to the MAP sensor come adrift once, the car seemed to run fine on very light throttle, but under boost it coughed like a 60 a day smoker.

I thought it was. Had a sooty exhaust pipe IIRC...ran like a dog when giving it a bit of poke..

Were you driving back through London when it happened? (i.e. crawling along) if so I guess it wasn't registering the vacuum so over fueling. I had to come back along the M11, which was interesting!
