Ok so doing a mechanical refurb on calipers is fairly straight forward. But what about when it comes to painted calipers?

How have people cleaned off the old paint, or have people even done this? Does the paint stand up pretty well and not need re doing?

Obviously when repainting you need to use special caliper paint for the high temps, does this need to go on bare metal or can it be applied over paint?

Cheers

Cleaned off the old paint and rust by sand-blasting the calipers. Then filler and paint. Good result so far.

They say high temps paint does not need filler at first. But I have never tried this way before, so not sure of it.

I rubbed down to the bare metal and used caliper paint...hard work but the results were great.

I would not advise using HT paint...it was crap (hence the rub down to bare metal!)

I also have normal paint on the calipers and it's just great.
