Motivation has been mentioned on the site a few times recently. Threads such as Jims double quick engine swap and rebuild and XTI's massive rebuild obviously help with everyones motivation.
But what gets you motivated to get out in the garage and either get those little jobs finished or dive in and get the car up on axle stands for the bigger things.

Personally Youtube and trackday vids tend to get me fired up a little. Especially my old videos from Goodwood:

YouTube - Alfa 155 Q4 Vs Lancia Delta Integrale

So what gets you motivated? And if possible, post up a pic or video so everyone can feel a little more enthusiastic about getting on with things.

Suffering from a severe loss of motivation atm...I seem to have loads of projects but everything gets in the way

Still...just arranged for the purchase of some panels to start the Q4 project :)

My Q4 project motivation?

1. My soul!
I wanted this car to represent me, who I am or trying to be and how I feel like, my spirit. Cuore Sportivo way of life if you want.

2. A test of will!
Like me, this particular car had ups and downs and I knew it can get better. I knew I can do better and had to try it. Maybe I really was trying to save myself.

3. A promisse to myself, a dream come true, well maybe even better. Long story...faith had a word to say too.

4. A car for my age and my possibilities. My kind of car. I like it's shape so much.

5. Why not...something to be proud of. To show it can be done.

There are so many if you're looking for reasons TO DO IT instead not doing it.

Cristian.

So now I am in the market for a new head, preferably one with all the work done.

Here you go Marc, apparently its new, yours for the bargain price of ?799 plus postage!!

Cylinder head new. (http://cgi.ebay.de/Zylinderkopf-Alfa-Romeo-155-Q4-16V-Turbo-NEU-/360305665256?pt=Autoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item53e3e424e8#ht_500wt_715)

Found that one Steve.
There is also one from redmistracing on the bay with work done to the head. I contacted the seller but they didn't want to give me a bit more information about the work done and the effect of the work done on the head. Stage two and the replacement of materials is all there is. I understand they wont tell all the details, but I really would like what I could expect.

I could buy a new head and do the work needed on the head or I could buy one with the work done.
I prefer the last, but I am in need for more information on this subject.

Regards,
Marc

Is asking a bit much to expect you to by a 'modified' head without telling you exactly what they have modified. Sounds a little like a lucky dip. Surely they can't be doing anything too secret with the head.

:eek: ouch, thats a good one Marc. I can maybe get you a good used head without spending too much. I'd like your old head too if I can arrange some cheap shipping, would that be possible maybe?

Started cutting into a cylinder head yesterday as it happens, I'll need to find some motivation to sit and do the whole thing but a start was made on one port. It's my current 1 hr extra before home time project as to grind for hours would send me mad :lol-052:

Nick,

The old head without the cams, valves (probably useless) and shafts is yours like I promissed before ;) I'll bring it to you when I'll be coming over or do you need the head a bit sooner?

Thanks for the offer. I don't think I'll be having a problem finding a new or used head
It would be worth something if I could combine to steps in one purchase.... like this head (http://cgi.ebay.nl/lancia-delta-integrale-evo-cylinder-head-/350292408530?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item518f0df8d2) for example. But I haven't got a clue if this would fit my "need".
Too many choices

Marc

Hey Marc,

Your welcome anytime as you know,if you come with a head all the better, I'd be very grateful of it. It's so I can practice welding on it which I'm not in a rush to play at.

That head has been on ebay for ages, his listing fees must be almost the asking price  As Steve says, the lack of info and pictures doesn't sound good, if it was a nicely ported head surely they'd be proud to show detailed photos of it along with some explanation.

It depends what you "need" is, to simply (well, maybe not so simple!) get the car running again or to create a foundation to build an upgraded engine around.
