any ideas??
anyone knows the colours of the cables that go to the relay??? I remember there was brown, red, green i think.

Does anyone know where i can get the relay from? I have tried alfa dealerships who obviously had no idea what i was talking about. I'd also quite like the bag (original is long gone) otherwise i'll use some sort of expansion tank.

Thanks

Can't help with the relay I'm affraid, there is a document on the site somewhere all about the standard waterspray setup though.
As for the bag, I use a 5L plastic fuel can. Tucks in nicely behind the spare wheel, and you can drill it to fit the pump\pumps in.

isn't it just a standard Bosch 30 amp relay?

Just pulled the relay and took a picture for you.

The numbers on the top of the relay are:
"B047" and "12V-2335"
Like Jim mentioned, its a 30A relay from Bosch.

Finally got around to trying to make this work.

Pumps run and pump water but the system doesn't work on boost. The relay is fitted as described above and is working as was pinched from a running 155 to trial the system before buying one. I tried connecting the two wires to the pressure switch (bypassing the switch and meaning it should pump all the time?) and still nothing.

Pretty irritating, any ideas??

So does the relay work? Do you want me to look if I have one for spare? I do not use the waterspray sysyem on my car...

Hi Steve, thats the page i used originally and whilst it was very helpful it doesn't have my problem on it.

XTI, I'm pretty sure the relay does work as it came of a working car (although not sure what it was doing on that car). When i plug it in it clicks once so i guess is ok. Don't worry about hunting for one just yet, Romania is a fair old distance for something i should be able to find.

I was trying to diagnose by myself in the dark last night, i hooked a light to the motors and the aim was that it would come on if they were triggered but no light so i assume no trigger? If i get a friend to sit in the front seat whilst i manually overide the pressure switch they should hear the relay clicking in and out correct?

A lot of the wiring in the engine bay is more like copper rod after being subjected to heat for 20 years so it may well be broken. I hope that isnt the case or its going to be a long and dirty day with the multimeter!!

Is there a way I could bypass the relay to test the wiring to the motors / pumps?

Is it just a case of finding a positive and negative wires and connecting them?

simple as that :)

Tried to bypass the relay and the pressure switch and still nothing.

Stumbled across the attached pic in another waterspray thread. Has anyone else found this?

I'm not too keen to start rooting around up there as the strut brace is right in the way but if there is motive i just might have to.

EDIT:

I am right in saying the positive and negative feeds are the ones labelled 85 and 87 on the relay aren't I? Otherwise i have bypassed sod all :)
