Well, I just read the article and it's a theory that raises a lot of questions/thoughts. I would like to hear the thoughts from others here on the forum about this matter, who have more experience with this subject or maybe from their profession.

Regards,

I did a similar break-in. Not full-throttling, but 75-80%.
Used a mineral 30W oil for first 100km, changed for similar until 1000km and the Selenia.

From what I've read and what sport people rebuilding engines are saying, it doesn't really matter which way you will go. If you have time - go for a slow break in. If don't (e.g. a race is next day after you finish engine rebuild, etc.) - you don't have another choice than a fast break-in..

There is one 'golden' rule which you have to follow - no constant RPMs during break in. And it doesn't matter if it's a fast or slow break-in.
On the other hand, if the engine is not built with care and attention to tolerances, etc., you should not blame break-in for engine failure :D
