Does anyone knows how many 155 GTA were produced back in '92.
I want to know only the GTA - not the 155 V6 TI that raced and the German championship with the V6 engine for the '93 season.
I'm trying to find some notes I used to have and I can not.
If I remember well, there were only 4 cars produced?
Is it true that the engine head was rotated by 180 degrees and the inlet manifold was towards the front of the car?
Is it true that the engine block was not the same as on the Q4? Was this engine more 'square'?
I do remember it had 400 bhp at 6000 rpm and that the gearbox was 6-speed sequential. There was just a button to engage the reverse gear. F1 derivation brakes ...

- more than 4 cars. In the the last race weekend at monza 17/18-10-1992 numbers 4,5,6,7,8,and 9 were raced. 4,5,6 were the martini colours, 7,8,9 were jollyclub.
Both teams hade 2 race cars, plus 1 T-car each.
In the 155 gta register there is also mention of a 155 gta stradale. Not sure were it fits in.

Inlet looks to be on the same side of the engine as our cars.
Probably Rudolph (keaper of the 155 register) himself will tell a bit more, or if he mails back i will.
Total number of gta cars is not known.
But what is in the register sofar is:
8 155 gta supertourismo. (7 have been verified by the register, 1 pending.)
1 155 GTA stradale, wich has also been verified.
So at least 9 total.

no I don't.
Nick
Wich parts would you need from a 155GTA?
As probably all parts are on the expensive side and wanted by most (not to poor.) owners of the cars.

Well - most parts!
Of course depending on price. Something maybe need to have, and something are nice to have...
I think you need to be a bit more specific before i start sending out emails..
As i know Rudolph from the GTA register. And to check the cars he had to visit them. So he probably knows where they are at. :tapedshut:
And their owners probably know were to get spares.
But i won't start this for a GTA "rear view mirror".
It's unlikely there would be a gearbox for sale anywhere but if you could ask about the manufacturer and nature of the design (dreaming of a picture) I'm thinking a bit of an eye opener might occur. I heard a rumour they are unique to the alfa, not just the same as the deltas ran. Any info I'm sure will be very interesting.

An owner with 2 gearboxes will be asked if he can give some details. If anything comes up i will report back.
A picture may be laying around in the Netherlands wich means i can post it tomorrow. (If it is available that is.)
Else we have to wait a bit.

some 6 or more months ago there was a GTA 6 speed gearbox for sale, at 15.000 euro if I remember well.
A year and a half ago there was for sale the GTA sumpguard {is it correct?} that goes under the engine, from someone in England.
A guy in south Italy is finishing a GTA replica for race use.

I will be very surprised if it is possible to buy anything for that car. I saw some doors from peifer racing - very expensive.
the bodywork would be great to have

I'd like that too, keeping apart the oem parts removed.

I just received word from one of the GTA owners in Italy about the gear box of his car. It is the R-70 together with the full transmission which was also used on the first Delta Integrale Competizione.
In 1994 the Deltas were equipped with the stronger R-90 gear box.
I will try to post a photo of the gear box later today when I get back home from work..
Thanks for your input and welcome to the forum :)

Welcome to the forum Frank.
It will be nice to have infos about the GTA.
nICK
If Frank post here himself it doesn't have to go trough me.
Welcome!
Thanks for the welcome! I am still busy reading up on the many topics of this forum. Good stuff!
Here is a photo from the gearbox. This is the only one I have unfortunately...

Mmmmmm, nice gearboxes. I'll have to go lie down, I'm feeling a bit faint :tasty:
I heard a rumour the 155 GTA used a box unique to them made by Hewland rather than Steyr. Likely no foundation in that rumour though as thats quite plainly an R70.
Welcome Frank, enjoy the forum, it's a good one.
