did anyone do this?

I'm starting to think the "jingling" or "rattling" while decellrating might be some bearing within the diff..

any views or opinions?

Check the prop shaft first, it is easier, cheaper and more likely to be the culprit!

I had done the mistake you?re trying to do.
As I thought the noise came from one of the diffs, I took them apart. It?s not an easy job but can be done.
After dismantling all except gearbox and engine, I realized that the noise came form the piece that conects the prop shaft with transfer box (don?t know the english word for this part, if anyone...).
So as I said in the other post, change this part, and check if noise has disappeared.

You?re right, that?s what I meant.
Here?s a pic to let it more clear:

any possibility for you to mark it on a drawing from the workshop manual?

and what needs to be removed to get to it?

-thanks guys, couldn't do it without you:)

There are 2 of the CV joints on the propeller shaft ? one in the front (#1) and one in the back (#2).
I would think the noise and vibration in your car come from the bearing-rubber unit which I marked #3 in the workshop manual scan.
Also see picture attached.

thanks. I don't think it from number three, as it sounds like it's coming from closer towards the front of the car, will have a look under when i change the oil in a couple of days.
