Where can i get this part? anyone got the part number?

Is the original out of production?

Someone was talking about using one from a fiat?

Mine fan only kicks in at stage 2, i can hear the relay switching in stage 1 at a lower temp, but no fan. Fan kicks in at 92 maybe..

Help appreciated:)

did you check the wires to the fan? mine had one wire broken, and I find it only when I've changed the fan. If the relay switches in stage 1 at lower temp but the fan does not start I believe it has to do with the fan and not the sensor
btw,the part numbers are :60543482 or 60593572. My spare parts cd gives two numbers for the same item - sensor.

If the relay is kicking in, then surely is a problem with the resistance.

Mine too

Should the fan be coming on before 92? I forget the numbers for the Q4 but 92 is normal for most cars.

I think its 87-92 and 92-95

check the connector for the resistance many times the first speed dont start because there is dirty in the connector
you will find him to right side of the radiator

Sorry, should have been more detailed, the break in the wire couldn't be seen as it was inside the heavy red wire, right on top of the fan where it gets hot. The cable was hard and must have just aged with the heat and time

Test meter showed the fault.

Can't be the thermo switch as he said that relay is kicking in!!!
The problem is from relay to the fan.
I bet for resistance.

thanks guys, bet it's the wires on top of the fan. as they go have been through a lot of temperature changes during the last 15 years, hehe. Will check it.

thanks:D

and...where can i find the fan resistance?

im not an electrics wizard.......

Not sure what you mean, isn't the fan working?

Are you trying to check the resistance of the power wire? I used a test meter and poked the probes through the wire cover to find where the break was. I tested for continuity using the "buzzer" on the test meter...dead easy :D

The resistance is very difficult to be broken
Usually the problem is to the connector of the resistance (2-pin white clip)
But if you need one go to an electronic shop and ask one 0.2 Ω with porcelain cover
If you cant find you can use one from the normal 155
Or from 156
The outer is plastic but don’t mind you are going to place it far from the exhaust

Measure the resistance first
Disconnect the white connector and use the buzzer as wrinx wrote before
To test the resistance
And after the hole circuit
This can help you

The resistance is located on fan's support, two big wires goes to it.

Ahh, I see now. As Juan says, the "fan resistance" is on the metal frame for the fan. Large connector at the bottom.
