Could a bad earth connection cause this?

are there some central ground bolts ?and where wil they be?
tomorrow evening I will make an 12 volt to the fuelpomp
to check every thing in between .

guys, mostly with Lancia Integrale, here in Greece make a hole new line - wire directly from the battery to the fuel pump {using a relay to guide, open-close, this line-wire} in order to avoid voltage problems with the fuel pump. Especially if they mount a bigger fuel pump.
Try something like that to check it.

Hello , I checked the battery he is still good
I had to tow the car home coudn't drive harder then 40 kmh
but while we towed the car it was running perfect with every
thing turned on,so we think that the fuelpomp is to its end

Have you checked the voltage to the fuel pump when the car is running, the fuel pump relay might be failing.

today I have checked the earthpoints and cleaned them ,also the wires from
altinator to starter to the central + point .some of them were rusted
I hope this was the problem will tomorrow go for a testdrive
