Feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place!

I've got the chance of a 16v Thema engine (belt snapped) and turbo for very little money.

Anyone know what other bits are shared to save me trawling the parts CD?

Just checked and the tubby isn't shared so it's not as simple as I thought! :(

So far....I thought it was the same engine but apparently not!

Shared:
Cams
Crank
Tappets


Not shared
Head (different???)
Crankcase (???)
Intake valves (not exhaust???)
Sump

Is this right?

It depends which Thema it was, one of them had some really screwed up engine design with smaller intake valves, a search on the GC forum will explain more. Block will be the same.

I have no idea what a 'tubby' is though....

:lol: Yeah...tubby=turbo.

Might still be worth a punt as cranks are hard to come by...any other bits will be a bonus to be honest, although I'm disappointed about the "tubby" :D

So what turbo is fitted to Themas?

Thema 8.32....mmm, engine transplant for the Matta? :lol:

The 8V themas had the garrett Tb0338(same as delta 8V) the 16V has the Tb0367 as the Q4.

I had one from the thema at home and as far as i can remember it was completly the same(the "tubby" :) )

P.S.

There was a small serie of themas with the TB0385(big turbo from delta 16v) but really small serie so i doubt it you have that one hehe.

Hhmm, I searched on the 16v Thema and ePER said the turbos were different, which I thought was odd!

Good news if they're the same, makes the price ok for the engine and tubby :cool:

I don t take the data from Eper 100% seriously becouse there can be a mismatch in the part number for such a small difference.

I searched EPER for the big brembo brakes(i bought them from a lancia kappa 2.0 20 V) which were essentialy THE same as alfa's 166 model, the only difference was in the sticker on the brakes and becouse of that, the part number was different :).

So the turbo is the same but the part number is not equal becouse its from lancia.
