A few hours ago I removed the rear differential, and found this.
Is it factory?
What the hell is that little lever and cable?

Gery ,

I think its factory ..
why ???

I have a -94 Q4 and no any lever and cable rear diff ..

But I know ,
-96 Q4`s have a 4wheel drive error light on the dashboard ,right ?
(fourwheel engage light)

I think ,
its is puls reader like road sensor ,
our road sensor on the gear box ,
read the puls and convert it speed on the dashboard ..(km-mile)

it must be compare road speed sensor ,
if the speed is different to road speed sensor ,
4wheel drive error light on ..

??

Maybe...

But my car is built in 1993.
And I read something about lancia diffs with electronic diff-lock.
And what is that lever supposed to be?
It seems like the metal plate thats holding it, isn't factory.
It looks like something is missing from there.

Low level oil sender unit?
I dunno about the lever, does it move? It looks fixed. Take it apart - see what it is attached to!

Soon I will take it apart, and then I will tell you!

I've got it!
It's from a Lancia Dedra Integrale.
And the little lever is probably a diff-lock! (YEAH!) :D

 So how do you make it work?

We will see!
I think I'll use an electric actuator.
Something like a strong central lock motor. Maybe...

 So how do you make it work?

Presuming it is a locking diff mechanism, the Matta employs something similar....operated by a pull cord!:eek::eek:

if you read about the 750 hp lancia delta integrale on www.redline.lt you migt think otherwise. the guy uses a manual lockable rear diff (think it must be the one from the dedra) because the thorsen one breaks

So is a Dedra diff considered an upgrade then?
