Bit of a barsteward this one, especially if you're working on your own and don't have a decent enough windy gun :rolleyes: No idea if anyone knows about this but my solution was found after having a look at the flywheel area...if it's already known just ignore me!

There's a small diamond shaped blanking plate, only about 40mm long, held on with two M5 bolts. If you remove that you can feel the flywheel behind it.

This is a clever little hole....it's supported on the outside and inside edges of the 'box and is obviously designed for a locking tool of some description :cool:

So I made one.....from an old bolt!:

* 35mm long
* 15mm diameter
* file a tooth on the end, to fit into the flywheel
* I tapped the other end for a 6mm bolt as you need to be able to position the tool once inserted...also needed to pull it back out!
* made another blanking plate, hole in the middle to clear the 6mm bolt, two holes for the original fixing bolts. This will stop it popping out!

....worked a treat! No crank movement at all, and of course now the belt change will be made easier with the crank stationary (*chants*...must remember to remove it before cranking!).

Hope this is useful :smoke:

For the Q4 I only need to find the special tools which are missing.

Which one does the front balance shaft pulley bolt?

It'll be something like number 19, but I used a tool I'd already got...a C-wrench :smile:

I was looking for these tools for quite a while now and just bumpt into it :smile: I think you could buy it through the dealership (no longer available), but you won't want to pay the €2500,- minimum for these tools :eek:
In 2006 I was outbid by somebody else. This time I was lucky :biggrin:
You could look for ads from dealers/garages who are going bankrupt, and check ebay in multiple languages.

Marc
