Does anyone know of a Q4 for sale in Europe, doesn't matter if its a runner or not. I'm looking for a second car to use as a parts donor.

Cheers

You wont be popular   but needs must if its one of those more difficult parts.

Alfapete on 155.org is selling but at ?2K and a potential buyer probably out of reach already...

My current problems have focused things really. Poking around underneath has unearthed a few area that will cause probs in the near future, especially if parts aren't available.

And 2K is probably abit steep. I'm hoping to pick up a car with broken engine so I can strip the parts then go about building a hot engine to keep in reserve for when this one gets tired/goes pop.

There must be some broken Q4s lurking in Europe.

Here's one. The ad says it is a full runner, and the price could be reduced if the wheels would be replaced with OEM ones.

It is in Lithuania. I could help with the language if they do not speak english.

Thanks for that link. That car is actually in the register - here (http://www.berlinasportivo.com/marquespec/Alfa/Q4register/vytas.php) and is a little expensive. Its also too good to break for parts. I'm really looking for one thats had a broken cam-belt (should be common huh!!) and is abit cheaper, anything under ?2000 really.

I asked this guy for the price for the entire car.....2800 euros.

The engine is tuned(big lancia delta turbo, racing cams....) but it's busted.

Cheers guys, I saw the one in Italy, seems a lot of money for a car gone bang.
And there is someone in Germany with parts from a stripped car, unfortunately he can't/won't ship the part I need because of weight.

check alfapower.nu, swedish site, there was a broken one some months ago. The engine was out, but would follow the car. The belt was not busted, only some oil leaks i think.

think he wanted around ?1000

I wan't the gearbox, and the rear diff;D and the rear panels if not rusted;D

With shipping these things can end up a lot more.

In the UK, broken engine Q4s have sold in the last few years between ?400 and ?850

My change of plan from just buying the parts I need now, to trying to find a complete car is down to the fact that I know my car is pretty damn bad when it comes to rust underneath, buying a second car for parts is going to be cheaper and easier in the long term when it comes to keeping my car on the road.
If I buy just the subframe, then just the radiator support, then just .... I'm going to end up spending far more money than if I'd hunted out a spare car.

well look after looking at my own car and my friends q4 i decide to fix the rust but only so i can drive for some time if i wanted to get ride of it completly then get a garage strip it and start a complete restoration! Buying a rusty donor car wont fix the problems i have done it and its a baaad idea!

To give you an idea of the state of the non galvanized parts of my car, every mechanic who has ever looked at my car has asked if I used to live by the sea.
Any Q4 that I can pick up, especially if it is from France/south of the UK will be an improvement.

Or, as your bodywork is so bad, buy another (better) car and swap the trick bits over...leaving you current car as the donor?

I think buying a car for a subframe and radiator support panel is a bit excessive!! I can weld/fabricate pretty much anything! In any gauge steel! Drop me a line steve and perhaps I could do you a deal!! ;-)
